Reasons & Benefits of Conducting CUET Exam

  • The push for a common entrance test comes at a time when unrealistic cutoffsfor admission to premier institutions like Delhi University have underlined the need for alternatives. The UGC hopes it will create a level playing field for everyone.
  • It was observed that there is huge competition in top universities with high cut-off marks, so the exam was introduced to reduce the high cut-off standards for entering these prestigious colleges.
  • The exam is a centralized test for top universities like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Central University of Punjab, and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
  • Being a centralized test, students can focus on a single aptitude testinstead of appearing for multiple entrance tests to get admission to these top universities.
