CUET PG LLB 2027: Eligibility, COQP11 Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Cut-off and Preparation Guide

By Success Mantra Admin

If you are planning to join a 3-year law degree after graduation, CUET PG LLB 2027 is the entrance route you will most likely take. This guide walks you through everything in one place: who can apply, the COQP11 paper and syllabus, fees, the DU LLB seat matrix, last year's cut-offs, a practical way to prepare, and what happens after the exam. Read it once end to end, then keep it handy as a checklist.

What Is CUET PG LLB and What Does COQP11 Mean?

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) was introduced in 2022 for admission into postgraduate programmes in Central and participating universities. The idea is simple: one common platform and equal opportunity for candidates across the country, especially those from the North-East, rural areas and other remote regions. It also helps students build a better connection with universities.

Because it is a single examination, one test lets you reach a wide range of Central Universities and other participating universities, and take part in their admission processes.

For law aspirants, the paper that matters is COQP11, the paper code used for the CUET PG general paper for the 3-year LLB programme. Keep this code in mind while filling the application form.

CUET PG LLB 2027 Eligibility Criteria

You can appear for CUET PG if you hold a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification. Students who are in the final year of their Bachelor's degree in 2027 can also apply.

CUET PG LLB Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

Here is how the COQP11 paper works:

  • Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Language: English and Hindi (bilingual)
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Questions: 75 multiple-choice questions

Marking scheme

Each correct answer earns you 4 marks, and each wrong answer costs you 1 mark. Questions you leave unanswered, or mark for review without answering, carry no marks. Choose the one option you think is most appropriate for each question.

If the English and Hindi versions differ in any way, the English version is treated as final.

What happens if a question has more than one correct option, or an error?

NTA aims for one unique answer per question, but in rare cases things go differently:

  • If more than one option is found correct, 4 marks go to everyone who marked any of the correct options.
  • If no option is correct, or the question is wrong or dropped, all candidates who appeared receive 4 marks, whether they attempted it or not.

How to Prepare for CUET PG LLB 2027: Section-wise Tips

COQP11 is a general paper used for several programme types. It is not a dedicated law paper, so do not prepare for it the way you would for a law-subject exam. Prepare according to the official COQP11 syllabus and the admission rules of the university you want.

English and language comprehension

Practise reading comprehension that tests the central idea, inference, tone, purpose and detail. Build your vocabulary through synonyms, antonyms, idioms and one-word substitutions, and learn words in context, not from long lists. For grammar, work on sentence correction, error spotting and sentence structure.

A simple routine works best: read something every day, revise vocabulary in context, attempt timed passages, and keep an error notebook of mistakes you do not want to repeat.

General knowledge and current affairs

Split your effort between current affairs (national and international developments, government schemes, awards, appointments, reports and major events) and static GK (history, geography, polity and the Constitution, economy, science, culture, sports and important institutions).

Legal awareness can help as part of your general awareness, but do not turn your preparation into CLAT-style legal reasoning unless the official 2027 notification asks for it. Revise current affairs daily, consolidate every week, rely on trusted sources, and revisit facts again and again.

Computer basics

This section rewards short, clean notes. Cover computer fundamentals, hardware and software, input and output devices, storage, operating systems, common terms, basic office tools, the internet, browsers, networks, cyber security basics, abbreviations and shortcuts. Follow your notes with factual MCQs and revise at spaced intervals.

Quantitative aptitude

Arithmetic is the core: percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, profit and loss, discount, interest, time and work, time-speed-distance, ages, number system and LCM/HCF. Depending on the official syllabus, also practise geometry and mensuration, mixtures, partnership, calendars and clocks, and permutation and combination.

Get the concepts clear first, then solve a short set every day, learn quicker calculation methods and write down the errors that keep repeating.

Logical reasoning

Work on analogy, classification, series, coding-decoding, directions, blood relations and ranking, then move to arrangements, sequencing, statement and conclusion, assumptions, cause and effect, inference and analytical reasoning. Learn a solving framework for each type, practise in timed sets, and always check why the wrong options are wrong.

How to Use Previous-Year Papers and Mock Tests

Mock tests are where preparation turns into marks. Here is a sensible way to use them:

  1. Start with a diagnostic paper to find your weak areas.
  2. Use previous-year papers to understand the style and difficulty of questions. Do not assume a topic that appeared once will appear again.
  3. After every mock, record your total score, accuracy, section-wise performance, time spent and repeated mistakes.
  4. Review more than your wrong answers. Look at lucky guesses and at questions that took too long.
  5. Come back to selected questions after a few days to check that you remember them.

After the Exam: Result, Cut-off and Counselling

Your work does not end when the paper does.

  • Follow NTA notices for the provisional answer key, recorded responses and the challenge process, where applicable.
  • Download your result or scorecard and keep it safe.
  • Track the official LL.B. admission page of each university you are targeting for separate registration, merit lists, preference filling and counselling.
  • Check category-wise eligibility, document verification, seat-allotment instructions and fee-payment deadlines.
  • Keep your own calendar of each university's deadlines. Do not assume every institution follows the same schedule.
