IHM-Aoffers two world class internationally recognized hospitality courses in association with University of Huddersfield, UK and the Taj Group. The institute offers four years courses-BA (Honours) Hotel Management and BA (Honours) Culinary Arts.

  • A student should have completed/appearing in the Class.XII (10+2) or equivalent examination in any stream with English as the medium of instruction to participate in the admission process.
  • A candidate will be admitted to IHM-A only if he/she successfully qualifies in the Board Examination.

The candidate needs to register online on the website and make the online payment for the complete process.

The selection process involves three steps/ stages:

  1. Appearing for the Online Profile Assessment Test (OPAT)

  1. Writing Statement of Purpose (SOP)

  • Personal Interview & Group Discussion

The personal interview will focus on the following five areas:

It will be conducted at any of these locations at a Taj Group Hotel in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai and at the Institute in Aurangabad. The candidates need to be present in the formal attire for the GD & PI:

  • Females- Saris or business suits preferred - formal ensembles or a full sleeved shirt, scarves and formal shoes.
  • Males-Suit, jacket or blazer preferred - formal trousers, full sleeved shirt, neck tie and formal shoes.

The final selection is based on: Electronic Profiling + Group Discussion + Writing a Statement of Purpose and Personal Interview.

(Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology)

Banarsi das Chandi wala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BCIHMCT) runs four year BHMCT program, as per the curriculum designed by Indraprastha University (IPU). The norms and standards for delivery of the courses are as laid down by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, and Government of India. The BHMCT program is divided into eight semesters each of five months duration. Admission to this course is through IPU-CET (BHMCT). IPUCET (BHMCT) tests the knowledge of accounts, commerce and science apart from regular areas like Verbal ability, Reasoning and GK tested in other hotel management entrance tests.

  • Appearing/ Passed Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • English must be core or elective or functional subject in class 12.

  • Mode of examination: Offline
  • Maximum Marks -600 Marks
  • Duration of the examination: 2 Hours 30 minutes or 150 minutes.
  • Types of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs)

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) JEE

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was established in the year 1982 by Govt. of India as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality management education in the country.

The Council regulates academics in the field of Hospitality Education & training that is imparted at the 21 (twenty one) Central Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, 19 (nineteen) State Govt. sponsored IHMs offering Degree level program; 3 (three) State Govt. sponsored IHMs offering Diploma/Craft Certificate level programs, 1 (one) PSU owned Institute, 13 (thirteen) private Institutes and 9 (nine) Food Craft Institutes that function in different parts of the country.

Course admission-BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration

The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University.   • Student must have passed/ appearing 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. English as a subject of study must be core/elective/functional.
  • Candidates appearing and awaiting results of 10+2 will be provided admission on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling or at the time of admission or latest by date as mentioned by the authorities.
  • For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 22 years as on 01.07.2018. Candidates born on or after July 01, 1996 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2018, so candidates born on or after July 01, 1993 are eligible. Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall be in accordance with the category he/she belongs to i.e. General/SC/ST/OBC.

NOTE: Each IHMs shall have three seats earmarked for 10+2 rank holders (one each for Arts, Science and Commerce stream) from among 1st to 200th rank holders from respective streams from recognized Boards of school examination wherein up to 2 lacs candidates appear or 1st to 500th rank holders from Board of Examination where 2 lacs to 5lacs candidates takeexamination. The inter-se-merit from recognized School Boards of examination shall be at par.

  • Mode of examination: Offline
  • Maximum Marks -200 Marks
  • Duration of the examination: 3 hours or 180 minutes
  • Types of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs)
  • Each correct answer under Numerical Ability & Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language components carry one mark. For any wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
  • Graded mark(s) will be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component in the following manner; the most appropriate answer carries 1.00, the next appropriate answer carries 0.75, the next to next appropriate answer carries 0.50 whereas the inappropriate answer shall carry negative mark of 0.25.

Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts (SSCA) is a constituent of Symbiosis International University, founded in 1996, and is the first school fully dedicated in offering qualifications in culinary science and arts in the country. 

Master Chef SanjeevKapoor is the Chair Professor of this school and has team of professional chefs to train youngsters for a skilled and grueling culinary profession.  SSCA offers a three year course of B.Sc.
