B.El.Ed Overview
The Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EL.ED.) programme is
a four-year integrated professional degree programme of elementary teacher
education (only for girls) offered after the senior secondary (class XII) stage
of school. The programme aims to produce graduates of high caliber in the field
of teacher education. B.Ed. is a 2 years course taken up after graduation or
post-graduation.
The B.El.Ed Programme is offered in the following eight

awarded 4 marks and for each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of

- At the time of filling the application form, all applicants are required to state their order of preference of college in their online application form. The applicant has to choose college in front of each preference in the registration form.
- It is mandatory for applicants to give preference for all eight colleges. It is advised to see choices of liberal options (check CIE website:http://www.cie.du.ac.in) provided by the colleges, distance and fee structure before finalizing the preference order. The preference order once submitted cannot be changed once the payment of fee is made. For example, if an applicant gives first college preference as AditiMahavidyalaya, next preference as Gargi College, next preference as Lady Shri Ram College for Women and the fourth preference is Shyama Prasad Mukherji College and so on, the applicant should mark the preference as given below:

- Allotment of colleges to the applicants shall be based on the rank secured/obtained in the entrance examination by the applicant and her order of preference of college subject to the availability of seats in that particular college. The seats available in each college in each category shall be allotted to the applicants in order of their ranks till all seats in the particular college are exhausted.
- Applicants are required to login on the Online Portal for UG courses based on entrance examination as per the Schedule provided to check the allotted college. A combined list of all applicants who are allotted the college shall also be displayed on the University website.
- The applicant is required to go to the college allotted and complete all admission related formalities within the stipulated time as per the Schedule. If the applicant fails to take admission in the allotted college (within the stipulated time) due to any reason, the applicant shall not be considered for any future allotment for the current year. The admission shall not be considered as granted till the fee amount is paid online.
- Applicants who do not take admission in the allotted college shall not be considered for any future allotment of college.
- The seats remaining vacant after any allotment shall be made available for ranks below the rank considered in the previous allotment. Applicants are then required to login on the Online Portal as per the Schedule to check their allotted college.
- Any change of college for up gradation is NOT permissible. Applicants once allotted a college are not allowed to upgrade to another college in the subsequent admission lists.
- In case of a tie for rank in the last seat in a college, the tiebreaking rule would be followed as given below:
- An applicant who has secured higher percentage of marks (aggregate of best five subjects including one language) in the qualifying examination will be considered first for the allotment/admission.
- Further, if the applicants have secured equal marks in the qualifying examination, then applicant having an earlier date of birth (as mentioned in class X certificate) will be considered for allotment/admission.
